Half-Dome Yosemite Hike

Ted was inspired on the Half-Dome hike from his close friend John McIvor. John bragged about how easy it was. Ted, Dan, and Mark planned a hiking trip for the 21st.
They left 5am and didn't come home until after 10pm that night! And it was much harder than they expected! Their success pretty much came down to age! Just to get to the Sub-Dome, it was an 8-mile hike from the bottom. Dan, already exhausted from the hike up Sub-Dome, was discouraged when he saw the cables going up Half-Dome. Ted and Mark successfully hiked to the top, but had to maneuver around those who froze on the cables, wondering the whole time how John could have done it so easily. They took some impressive breath-stopping pictures. On their way down, the sun had started to set. They were taking their time due to soreness, until Mark saw a sign stating that at dusk critters come out which attracted all the animals up the food chain, including mountain lions. All of a sudden everyone started to go much faster.
It wasn't until Ted had gotten home when he found out John had lied about having an easy time hiking! John couldn't stop laughing!
