The Twelfth Month

Marina's almost a year old! Whaaaaahhhhhhh! She's already crawling up onto things (furniture, mommy and daddy). She's also getting more practice standing on her own for brief moments. I've finally "baby-proofed" our kitchen. I got tired of having to put away pots, pans, and pantry items on a daily basis!

On the 11th, we went to the Kys' place for Matthew's first birthday! He's gotten so big too! It was cute seeing all the kids there (there were so many)! It was also nice seeing Tom's parents there. Marina (and Mark) really enjoyed their bouncy-bounce!

On the 16th, I've finally managed to take a picture of Marina standing by herself! She's been doing that for several weeks now, but every time I whipped out the camera, she would go back to sitting or leaning on our couch! This time, she was standing long enough so I could take two pictures in a row! Pretty soon she'll be walking! Whaaaaaahhhhhh!

Marina's 12-month appointment was a bit early (on the 21st). We can now add eggs to her diet. Her official stats: 30 3/4" tall, 22 lbs 4 oz. We will need to take her back on her 12-month birthday to get her shots.

On the 22nd she started walking with one of our barstools in the kitchen. I was prepping some food to cook and all of a sudden I heard a sliding sound behind me. I turned around and she was "walking" with the barstool! Mark also had his Lasik done today, which is why he was wearing the funny glasses.

On the 23rd, Marina started using her car to walk around in the living room. She was walking quite fast and it worried us a bit, but she seems to be doing it pretty good now! She could be walking on her own by her 1-year birthday!

On the 25th, Roger and Kathy hosted a party celebrating Randy and Elena's 1-Year Anniversary at the El Adobe in San Juan Capistrano. It was a nice luncheon, and it was nice hearing kind words regarding Elena from Ashley. We also found out how much Marina loves hearing the guitar!

On the 31st, we went to Ted's y Elise's to celebrate Savannah's 8-Year Birthday party (her actual birthday is February 2, which was Marina's orginal due date). Their home remodel is moving along.
